In den Staaten wird da etwas mehr an Vorbereitung und Zeit investiert:

The company in CA that chromed them used a multi stage process
starting complete stripping, then 2 layers of copper to bond to the aluminum, then buffing the copper to remove imperfections(I had lots!)
then nickle plating, and then several more chrome plates with buffing
and polishing in between for 95.00per wheel. They guarantee the
rims not to peel. When you think about how these wheels are made to
stand up to abrasions, salt, ect, you have to know that the way we
store and keep our vettes, that these wheels will last forever now!
Thanks for posting these pictures. I'll take more when the painting is
finished.
OH by the way, I sent 3 old nicked,chipped wheels and one NOS I
pulled out of a 21yr old box I found at a dealer in florida. They stripped
the new NOS of clearcoat just like the other 3. I CANNOT now tell which
one was the NOS wheel. I really can't.

Hier wurden 82er C.E.-Felgen verchromt. Erst kupferbeschichtet, dann nickel und dann mehrere Schichten mit chrome.
