VIN steht für Vehicle Identification Number. Die VIN findest Du wenn Du auf der Fahrerseite unten rechts bei der Windshutzscheibe von aussen schaust. Dort ist ein kleines Kästchen mit vielen Nummern. Hey Gutzi, musst übrigens nicht unbedingt an Deinen Wagen laufen. Die VIN steht auch im Fahrzeugschein/Fahrzeugbrief. Heißt auf Deutsch FIN (Fahrzeug Ident. Nummer).
An der VIN kann man viele Infos zum Wagen erkennen. Unten ein kleines Info Blatt !

PS. Aus den 3 und 4. Ziffern kommt übrigens auch die in Deutschland bei vielen Versicherern genutze Bezeichnung "Y" für unsere Corvetten.

Ich habe einen Vorschlag zu dieser Rubrik.
Wäre es nicht möglich hier nur Rückrufe und TSB's einzustellen. Dann hätte man alles in einer hervorgehobenen Rubrik und auf einen Blick.
Jeder könnte mit einem Klick auf diesen, wie ich finde, wichtigen Thread nach Problemen seines Fahrzeuges suchen.
Die Idee kam mir, da der Titel mehr sagt als der Inhalt. Im Inhalt geht es um das Bremsenproblem, dass ist ja OK, aber man findet zwischen den Antworten nicht sofort den wichtigen Link.
Was meint ihr dazu?

2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 Chevrolet Corvette and 2004-2005 Cadillac XLR (Y-Body) Fuel Gauge is Erratic
General Motors is in the process of redesigning the fuel tank sending units in both of the subject vehicles. A new part number has been released but it is not yet in stock. Some dealers have attempted to order the new parts 88967315 or 7316 and they have been told that the parts are not yet available. The new parts have an improved ink coating which will provide improved resistance to fuel contamination and correct fuel sender over travel which is the primary cause for the fuel gauge being erratic. Fuel Modules should not be replaced for complaints of erratic fuel gauge. The fuel sender card is the only part required.
Until the new fuel sender cards are available, the 2004 card is available and can be used. Part number 10310028 left side and 10310103 for the right side will operate in all 2002 through 2005 applications. However it does not have the improved ink path. In cases where a customer insists on a replacement part, the 2004 part can be used although it is the same part that is currently in their car. Availability is expected by the end of April. A bulletin will be released with correct part numbers as soon as the parts become available.

2005 Chevrolet Corvette With (RPO Z51)
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment that when they apply the brakes, the vehicle exhibits a squeal noise. This squeal noise is heard coming from the front or rear of the vehicle. Vehicles produced with the Z51 sport package are equipped with larger rotors and harder pads.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Replace both the front and rear brake pads with the part numbers listed below. Both front and rear pads need to be replaced due to the difference in composition of the brake lining material. The existing rotors should be used and it is not necessary to machine the rotors.

Habe seit ein paar Tagen die neuen Bremsbeläge drauf und was soll ich sagen...kein quitschen mehr.
Ausserdem kommt man so zu einem kostenfreien Wechsel, für alle, die gern bremsen.

War gerade im Briefkasten und hilft evtl. einigen, die Probleme mit dem Dach haben:

this notice is sent to inform you that chevrolet is conducting a voluntary customer satisfaction programm that affects certain 2005 model year chevrolet corvette vehicles equipped with a painted roof.
we have learned that the painted roof panel may seperate from its frame in some areas if it is exposed tp stresses along with high temperature and humidity. The occupants of the vihicle may notice one or more of these symptoms: a snapping noise when driving over bumps, wind noise, poor roof panel fit, roof panel movement/bounce when a door or hatch is closed, or a water leak in the headliner.
what we will do:
to prevent this condition from occuring, your chevrolet dealer will apply adhesive foam to ensure proper adhesion. in a small number of vehicles, the roof panel may require replacement. this service will be performed for you at no charge until march 31, 2007.
