Es gibt viele Gründe, aber hier sind einige:

- Vor dem Zweiten Weltkrieg besten Autos kamen aus den USA. Eine Generation von Männern und Jungen lerned zu den USA hergestellte Autos und Lastwagen zu vertrauen. Mein Großvater mindestens REO und Busse GMC gehört und er immer gemocht, dass diejenigen, echte Autos waren.

- Europa nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg war vor allem Ruinen und kein Auto fuctional factoryes fast überall. Was wir hatten, war Überschuss Lastwagen und Jeeps verbündet. Hier in Finnland einige Landwirte verwendet Jeeps als ein Traktor! So Legende von HeavyDuty Qualität US-Autos ist stark.

- 50 ist zumindest in Finnland hatten wir nicht viel Geld oder neue Autos, sondern High-End-Autos zum großen Bosse und Armee kam aus den USA. Mein Vater erinnert sich, dass lokale Armeegeneral verwendet '55 Chevy 4D Limousine im Jahre 1958 (als ich noch in der Armee späten '80 's allgemeine Volvo 740 fuhr). In den 50ern: s mein Großvater Ford Big Job Lkw im Besitz so vertraute er noch US-made Lastwagen.

- 60-everthing alles verändert, wachte europäischen Automobilindustrie auf und wir bekamen Beeteles, Fiat 600 und ein paar "große" British Autos und nicht zuletzt auch Japanisch und Russisch eaven Autos. Es waren vor allem billig zu kaufen. Eaven mein Großvater verkaufte Ford und Volvo gekauft Viking LKW. Doch US-made Autos waren in Ordnung Autos, aber Leute hier waren die kleinen und europäischen Neuwagen verwendet. Endlich einige von ihnen beginnen zu alten ausgetretenen-up US-Autos von 40 und 50-Jährige zu hassen. Diese Zeit neue US-amerikanischen Autos droppd Umsatz und USD strog und wurde diese Autos waren teuer usw.

1970 und 80er Jahre waren mehr eaven dunklen Zeiten.

Corvettes waren sehr selten hier in Finnland. Älteste war 1962, aber ich verstand, dass er als privater Export kam. Erster offizieller Export was1965 Coupé, den ich verwendet, um zwischen 2001 besitzen - 2004. Jetzt wird es von unseren herausragenden Mitglied Groovyjay Besitz.

Ich denke also, US-Autos war schon immer ein paar Art Traumautos hier: groß, fett, kraftvoll. Und noch immer sind sie Traumautos, aber jetzt haben wir ändern, sie zu kaufen, fahren sie und genießen Sie sie.

Ich denke, die enswer auf Ihre Frage ist sehr einfach. Zusätzlich zu den Fertig Kommentare würde ich sagen, dass die jungen Europäer von Oldtimern im Allgemeinen - sei es eine alte europäische oder US-Auto ist. Die Alten haben Charakter, während der heutigen Autos fast alle gleich aussehen. Ein Architekt hat mir neulich gesagt: "Der Körper Ihres Sting Ray ist Architektur". Darüber hinaus haben Sie einen Blick auf den Motor. Wenn ich die Motorhaube meines C2 öffnen Sie es wie Ihre aussieht - sehen Sie den Vergaser usw. Wenn ich die Motorhaube meines Aidi A5 sehe ich nichts öffnen - nur eine Plastikabdeckung, kann ich nur erwarten, den Motor ab. Oldtimer spiegeln eine Art von Handwerk. Man vergleiche nur die Knöpfe des Armaturenbretts von Ihnen mit den den Knöpfen eines Audi oder Mercedes (und diese Autos sind an der Spitze in Bezug auf Qualität angeht) - es ist nur Kunststoff überzogen mit Chrom im Auto ist es Messing!
In Bezug auf Ihre Pläne nach England zu gehen - gute Idee, aber ich fürchte, Sie haben, um einen Spiegel auf der rechten Seite des Autos zu installieren!

Hi, this may sound strange, but I am dealing with 7 or 8 countries and 8 forums and I am having trouble knowing who I am posting to or replying too.

Perhaps some of you can post a picture of you and your car so I can relate a name , face and car.

All names and screens names are becoming a blur............the Finnish names are just not pronounceable to me , French, who knows, Germans, well you know who you are......Swedes.....don't seem to talk much to the Norwegians , Italians, still waiting for food and wine. Swiss, walk the fence.

So let me have some pictures

Some here already answerd it - Movies (it´s just another Theme-Park with better weather,
bigger cars, ... :-), I love Rockford ( he had a Vette-Raceteam - http://www.airl88.com ) and the early 70th GM-Designs,
Post War Impressions by GI´s Cars, and so on.

My brain embossing (is this the right term ?) was maid through an oncle of mine who led one
of the biggest GM-Dealerships in D (Dello in Hamburg) in the 70th-80th.
He provided me with brochures and came to Family-Meets with Camaros
and Opel Diplomat (with GM V8) and what ever. That was quiet impressive, because my family
drove just Mercedes at this time Großes Grinsen

In case they were better for Autobahn-Speed, but quiet boring standing next to another.

How ever, since that times it was more than clear to have a CORVETTE C3 when I grow up.
OK, probably I grew up a little late, but in mind I never lost youth Großes Grinsen

New port of entry Bremerhaven - Jack Panzica - 14.06.2012

Guten Abend an alle,

Mein Plan war gewesen, das Auto nach Oslo Norwegen versenden ...... ein paar Meilen fahren ....... und versenden das Auto wieder aus Großbritannien. Es scheint, dass das Auto nach Europa zu gelangen auf dem Programm, das funktioniert für mich .... und Papiere auszustellen (viel) weniger komplex

Ich versende das Auto nach Bremerhaven, und senden es zurück aus Bremerhaven. Ich werde dann nach Oslo und der Rest von Skandinavien zu fahren. Ich hatte alle Vorkehrungen für Oslo gesetzt ..... aber jetzt .....

Ich könnte etwas Hilfe ...... ich werde einen Spediteur für die Landung der Auto haben ..... aber nicht auf die nach Deutschland fliegen, um Auto zu planen. Vielleicht brauche ich jemanden, der in der Nähe von Bremerhaven lebt, mir zu helfen, Auto setzen .... Gas in in. ..... mich abholen vom Flughafen?

Alle neuen Ereignisse ....... aus Bremerhaven, werde ich nach Dänemark fahren und bleiben Sie mit einem Host gibt. Am nächsten Tag, auf nach Oslo und dem Rest der Reise.

Bitte lassen Sie mich wissen, wenn Sie mit einem Ort zu bleiben ....... Ich denke ich werde ein deutsches Bier, bevor irgendetwas anderes haben helfen können ....

My plan had been to ship the car to Oslo Norway......drive a few miles.......and ship the car back from UK. It seems that to get the car to Europe on the schedule that works for me....and to make paper work ( a lot ) less complex

I am shipping the car to Bremerhaven, and sending it back from Bremerhaven. I will then drive to Oslo and the rest of Scandinavia. I had all arrangements set for Oslo.....but now.....

I could use some help......I will have a shipping agent for the landing of car.....but did not plan on Flying to Germany to get car. I may need someone who lives near Bremerhaven, to help me get car....put gas in in......pick me up from the Airport ?

All new events.......from Bremerhaven, I will drive to Denmark and stay with a host there. Next day,,,on to Oslo and the rest of trip.

Please let me know if you can help with a place to stay.......I guess I will have a German Beer before anything else....

Ich möchte Paul Harrington und die vielen Corvette Freunde und Mitglieder des New England Corvette Club für abzuschicken Partei für die Europa-Reise bedanken.

Paul hatte eine kleine Party am ersten Tag meiner Reise 48 Zustand .... zu meiner Überraschung gesetzt, begrüßte mehr als 20 Korvetten und ihre Besitzer an meine Heimat des Paulus auf Cape Cod ....

In diesem Jahr Paul lud mich auf eine Reise vor tune up und Inspektionen an meinem Auto, bevor Sie es nach Europa zu tun ..... Ich habe es am Freitag und wir änderten die Stecker, Öl, Filter und überprüfen Sie alle Flüssigkeiten .... Paul hat eine große Garage und ein paar sehr schöne Autos ..... und Aufzug ...

Leider ..... als ich aus dem Autobahn und verlangsamt ein bisschen ... Ich fing an, einen schlechten Klang von hinten und Antriebsstrang zu hören ....

Wir verbrachten den Tag versuchen, ihn aufzuspüren .... wir gefunden haben, dass mein Längslenker Shims hatte auf meiner rechten Seite tauchte ..... fanden wir einige Extras und ersetzt die fehlenden .... aber das Klirren und klirrend weiter ...

Ich fuhr das Auto nach Hause und hatte kein Problem mit hohen Geschwindigkeiten, ohne Rauschen oder Klirren .... aber bei niedrigen Drehzahlen Klirren kam zurück .... Ich werde versuchen, das Auto zu meinem Mechaniker bekommen, um das Problem zu finden .... .. hasse es, ein Rad abfallen oder eine andere Antriebsstrang Teil Pause auf der Straße haben

Wir haben ein Mock Beurteilung meines Autos NCRS Stil .... nein, ich werde mich nicht, Ihnen zu sagen, wie viele Punkte abgezogen ..... Ich hatte aber mein Motor hat jetzt Abziehbilder ..... Ich erinnere mich an die Originale aus vor 42 Jahren ...... längst vorbei, aber jetzt ...... wie neu ....... sie sagt, dass mein Motor hat 350 PS ... also muss es wahr sein ..

I would like to thank Paul Harrington and the many corvette friends and members of the New England Corvette Club for send off party for the European trip.

Paul had set up a little party on the first day of my 48 state trip....to my surprise , more than 20 corvettes and their owners greeted my at Paul's home on Cape Cod....

This year Paul invited me down to do a pre trip tune up and inspections of my car before taking it to Europe.....I got there on Friday and we changed the plugs, oil, filter and check all fluids....Paul has a great garage and a few very nice cars.....and a lift...

Unfortunately.....as I got off the highway and slowed down a bit...I began to hear a bad sound from the rear and drive train....

We spent the day trying to track it down....we did find that my trailing arm shims had popped out on my right side.....we found some extras and replaced the missing ones....but the clanking and clinking continued...

I drove the car home and had no problem at high speeds, no noise or clanking....but at low speeds clinking came back....I will try to get the car to my mechanic to find the problem......hate to have a wheel fall off or some other drive train part break on the road

We did a mock judging of my car NCRS style....no I am not going to tell you how many points I had deducted.....But my engine now has decals.....I remember the original ones from 42 years ago......long gone, but now......just like new.......it says my engine has 350 HP...so it must be true..

I will have some news on the trip by the end of the week. It looks like I will make it to Europe by the end of August.

I am sorry for the delay, as I had hoped to make it to Scandinavia earlier in the month, but the trip was more costly then first anticipated and I needed the extra time to raise additional funds.

Ich werde hier ein paar Neuigkeiten auf der Reise durch die Ende der Woche. Es sieht aus wie ich es nach Europa machen wird bis Ende August.

Es tut mir leid für die Verspätung, wie ich gehofft hatte, um es nach Skandinavien früher im Monat machen, aber die Reise war teurer dann zunächst erwartet und ich brauchte die zusätzliche Zeit, um zusätzliche Mittel zu beschaffen. Mein Zeitplan ist Deutschland nicht betroffen ist, und ich werde sehen, wie Sie im September geplant.

I just replied to your mail on "Kickstarter". It's great to see you seeing this through and I don't have to tell you the Corvette Community is waiting to meet up with you. Be glad you didn't come over earlier - so far the summer in Northern Europe has been dreadful, cold and rainy. We special ordered great weather for your trip though.
